Hello...

I was born in New York to a pair of Japanese gypsies. My father was a prolific ad man on Madison Avenue and my mother, a charming dollmaker. We moved out West, where I spent an all-American childhood riding banana seat bikes in go-go boots.

I’ll spare you the circuitous detours which brought me to San Francisco, where I’ve toggled between parallel careers of Brand Design & Film Production for the past two decades.

Takahashi is comprised of the kanji characters tall & bridge. Many family names prescribe one’s vocation – Farmer, Baker, Cooper. While I don’t hail from ancestry that erected bridges between land masses, I often yearn to span a path between two seemingly foreign disciplines and ideas. It is all beginning to make sense to me.
